About the Initiative

About the Project

Original project title: DiscoverEU – Tiszalúci fiatalok európai vonatos utazása

This DiscoverEU project gave young people from Tiszalúc the opportunity to take part in a ten-day rail journey across Europe. Travelling together, they discovered new countries, cities and cultures and gained experiences that would have been less accessible to them at home.

Organising the journey and responding to changing circumstances helped develop independence, problem-solving and teamwork. Participants practised communicating in other languages, learned to make decisions together and became increasingly confident in unfamiliar surroundings.

The programme also strengthened their sense of European identity, openness and acceptance. The project received a quality award in recognition of the value and standard of the youth work behind it.
