A video produced by the Tempus Public Foundation presents Bakcsó Association's DiscoverEU project and its impact on young people.
The DiscoverEU Inclusion Action project delivered in 2023 by Bakcsó Természetjáró, Természetvédő, Kulturális és Szabadidősport Egyesület received professional recognition: the programme received aquality award, which our association accepted in May 2025.
To mark the award, the Tempus Public Foundation produced an introductory video filmed during the second Tiszalúc Youth Innovation Forum. The short film offers an overview of the project's aims, delivery and impact on young people and the local community.
Through the programme, young people from Tiszalúc took part in a European rail journey, discovering cities including Geneva, Luxembourg and Amsterdam. The international experience brought cultural discoveries and contributed significantly to their personal development. Participants grew more confident in using a foreign language, became more independent and developed the problem-solving skills needed to handle unexpected situations.
The project's impact continued after the journey. Participants became more open to international opportunities; several went on to gain further experience abroad or take a more active role in local community life. At the association's youth events and conferences, they share their experiences with their peers and introduce the opportunities offered by Erasmus+ and DiscoverEU.
The video shows how a railway station in Tiszalúc can become the starting point for European learning, personal development and community building.
