Celebrating Our Sixth Earth Day in Tiszalúc

Our sixth Earth Day event once again helped participants explore sustainable lifestyles and practical green solutions for everyday life. We demonstrated how these approaches protect our environment, while interactive stands offered visitors hands-on learning experiences.

The event was hosted by Hegedűs Imre and opened by Csordás László, Deputy Mayor of Tiszalúc.

Green Solutions Week – Drawing Competition Results

The programme began with the ‘Green Solutions Week’ drawing competition awards. Our association's president, Hegedűsné Stion Éva, and Csordás László presented the prizes. The children's work showed, with creativity and sensitivity, what environmental protection means to them.

Eco Passport – Learning through Games and Stamps

Participants received a special Eco Passport to guide them through the activities. It recorded the holder's name and included a ‘Green Pledge’, which could be taken after completing the tasks at all six stations and collecting the stamps. Successful participants became ‘Eco Adventurers’ with the association's official stamp, welcoming many new environmentally aware members into our community that day.

Eco Quiz MINI

Eco Quiz MINI was a five-question game with separate challenges for preschool children, school pupils and adults. The questions encouraged reflection on what sustainability really means. Facilitators helped explain incorrect answers, turning the game into a learning experience.

Making Grass Heads – Creativity and Responsibility

One of the most popular stations invited participants to make grass heads using stockings, soil, string and grass seed. The activity developed creativity and encouraged responsibility, as the grass heads would need ongoing care.

Building an Eco City – Creating with Recyclable Materials

Following the principle of turning waste into treasure, participants built a shared green city from recyclable materials. Using trash art, they created together and discussed the future of sustainable communities. The process was a powerful shared experience, with an impressive result: [IMAGE]

Paint and Discover!

At this station, participants painted plaster and wooden animal figures while facilitators explained each creature's role in the ecosystem. The activity helped show how every living thing contributes to nature's balance.

KÖSZ Stand – Exploring Sustainability through Play

We were delighted to welcome the Kisvárosi Önkéntes Szemétszedők Egyesülete for the fourth time. Visitors tried upcycled games made from waste, including plastic-bottle bowling and water pong. The stand demonstrated enjoyable ways to spend leisure time sustainably.

Compostable or Not?

Composting is one foundation of a sustainable household, and this station offered practical knowledge. Participants sorted illustrated cards into compostable and non-compostable categories. Simple yet informative, the game helped explain the importance of reducing waste.

Once again, the event showed how effective experiential learning can be in developing environmental awareness. Thank you to every participant and partner for helping us take another step towards a greener future!
